NCCA Events

At the Annual Member meeting held on April 4, 2019, the body approved a change in our education schedule.  We are changing when our multi-day education event occurs.  In 2020, it will occur in the Fall rather than the Spring.  Our Spring gathering will be a one-day event and will be in a central location.  We will travel between Eastern and Western locations in the Fall.  Our goal is to continue to offer high quality continuing education that is in line with our mission and serves professional chaplaincy in its myriad of forms in North Carolina.

Remember that we post options for continuing education in our events calendar.

Upcoming Conference Dates:

  • NCCA 2020 Fall Retreat is October 7-9, 2020 at Caraway Conference Center in Sophia, North Carolina.  The title of this event will be coming soon as the event is still being prepared by our Education Co-Chairs, Colleen Danson and Lee Hendricks.  If you would like to be a part of the education committee, please contact us.  UPDATE–the Executive Committee is working to determine if this event needs to be a virtual one due to the challenges of travel/ gatherings in the Covid-19 pandemic.  Registration will open once the final decision is made.
  • NCCA 2021 Spring Education Day is Thursday, April 22, 2021.  We will gather at Dogwood Conference Center in Sherrills Ford, NC.  Author, J. Dana Trent, will lead us in a three-session day of education entitled: “Crossing the Threshold: Equipping Professional Chaplains in End-of-Life Care Practices.”  Attendees will also receive a copy of Dana’s most recent book, Dessert First:  Preparing for Death while Savoring Life.  To learn more about Dana, visit her website:  (Rather than lose this wonderful opportunity to be with Dana Trent, this event was rescheduled from 2020 to 2021.)  Registration will open soon.
