NCCA Events

Our goal is to continue to offer high quality continuing education that is in line with our mission and serves professional chaplaincy in its myriad of forms in North Carolina.  In 2020, we have learned to adapt expectations to place the safety of our members and community members who serve us at an appropriate level of consideration.

Rather than an in-person event in Fall 2020, you are invited to attend a Business Session to elect officers and a Service of Lament & Hope on October 15, 2020 at 10:00am.

Remember that we post options for continuing education in our events calendar.

Upcoming Conference Dates:

We continue to hope that we will meet in person but are preparing for events to be virtual.

  • NCCA 2021 Spring Retreat is April 22-23, 2021.  Due to our continuing need to promote social distancing, our Spring Retreat will be a virtual one.  We hope to meet in person at Dogwood Conference Center in Sherrills Ford, NC sometime in the future years.  The title for that event is “Hearing & Healing our Communities: Courageous Conversations for Hope & Reconciliation.”  It will be a mixture of insight from teachers and panelists, as well as group process.  Registration is expected to open in January 2021.
  • NCCA 2021 Fall Education Event is October 6-8, 2021.  We will gather at Caraway Conference Center in Sophia, NC.  Author, J. Dana Trent, will lead us in a three-session day of education entitled: “Crossing the Threshold: Equipping Professional Chaplains in End-of-Life Care Practices.”  Attendees will also receive a copy of Dana’s most recent book, Dessert First:  Preparing for Death while Savoring Life.  To learn more about Dana, visit her website:  (Rather than lose this wonderful opportunity to be with Dana Trent, this event was rescheduled from 2020 to 2021.)  Registration will open in the Spring of 2021.
